FAQ's

  1. How can I get my child involved? Online Registration is available at any time. You may also come to any Open Registration events scheduled or visit the sign in area of any event to register for an upcoming season.
  2. How much does it cost and how can I make payment? Please contact the USGLL Pittsburgh Director, Ronald Lucas for Fees for the upcoming season. He can be reached my calling 412-247-4653 or by email: pittsburghpa@usgll.org   We only except cash or checks at this time, no credit cards. Checks can be mailed  to USGLL Pittsburgh PA, Inc., 1409 Belulah Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
  3. Are coaches and organization members required to have background checks? Yes, all coaches and organization members are required to have background checks.  
  4. When and where will play begin? Practices and matches begin in May and run through September.  Participating practice facilities include:  Scally's Golf Center in Moon, the RMU Dome on Neville Island, Vietmeiers Golf Center in McKees Rocks and Willows Driving Range in Plum Borough.  Participating Golf Courses include: Aubrey's Dubbs Dred , Scally's Golf Center, Indian Run GC, Stonecrest GC, Fox Run GC, Village Green GC, Marada GC, Latrobe Elks GC,  and the Golf Club of Washington.
  5. What about my younger/older child? We are a team concept of junior golfers with limited restrictions for joining our teams. Ages range from 6 to 18. Note, however, though the lower age limit is 6, younger junior golfers with a golf background and understanding of etiquette, manners, and course management are welcome.
  6. How do teams compete? The format is individual match play with some team scramble events.  This format will especially promote a favorable pace of play.

  8. What if my child isn’t ready to play in the league? We have PGA/LPGA professionals on staff that can help to develop your child's golf skills, and we can recommend other local PGA/LPGA professionals.
  9. What if my child doesn’t have clubs? We can assist in supplying clubs through the many generous donations of used clubs to our local golf course’s and Jr. Golf Program and some golf clubs through our Sponsorship program or PGA/LPGA professionals.
  10. Where/When do the team’s practice? Practice locations & times will be scheduled by the Coach of your child's team.
  11. Can I / we sponsor a team? Yes! We have many opportunities for Team Sponsors, as well as District and League Sponsors.  All donations and sponsorships are Tax Deductible and come with great visibility to advertise within the community as well as over the internet. If you would like to be a sponsor you can register online by clicking "Volunteer" above and we will contact you.
  12. What if we don’t live the area? Players from surrounding cities, although eligible, must consider the distance to travel for both practice and scheduled matches. Interested in starting a league in your city? Please go to the "Contact Us" page for additional informaiton.
  13. Will this affect my child’s Jr. Golf status? Giving all players the ability to compete and practice their skills as a player and a Team mate can only enhance the future of our Jr. Golf Programs and our High School golf teams giving them the opportunities to go on to secondary schools via the many golf scholarships available.
